All-on-4 & full-arch implants in Hungary: cost and the real timeline
Full-arch restoration — a complete row of fixed teeth on four to six implants — is the biggest-ticket treatment in dentistry, which makes it the case where travelling saves the most in absolute pounds: commonly £5,000+ per arch. It's also the treatment most wrapped in marketing. Here's how it actually works.

What All-on-4 actually is
Four (sometimes five or six) implants per jaw, with the rear ones placed at a calculated angle to anchor in the best available bone — often avoiding the grafts that individual implants would need. A full fixed bridge attaches to those implants: teeth that don't move, don't come out at night, and load the jawbone the way natural teeth do, which is what keeps the bone from receding the way it does under dentures.
It's a genuine, well-established technique — and also the most aggressively marketed phrase in dental tourism, so keep the label separate from the clinic: a bad clinic doing "All-on-4" is still a bad clinic. The vetting rules apply double at this ticket size.
The real timeline: provisional now, final later
Full-arch is the one implant treatment where same-week fixed teeth are legitimate — with a caveat every honest clinic states plainly:
- Visit one (5–8 days): CT planning, any extractions, implant placement, and — because All-on-4 is engineered for immediate loading — a fixed provisional bridge fitted within days. You fly home with fixed teeth, eating soft foods carefully.
- At home (3–6 months): the implants integrate under the provisional. Follow the food rules; this stage is where the long-term result is won.
- Visit two (5–8 days): the definitive bridge — stronger materials, refined fit and bite — replaces the provisional.
The mis-selling pattern to watch: presenting the provisional as the finished product and skipping visit two from the quote. Ask any clinic: "Is the final bridge included, and what is it made of?" If the answer is vague, so is the price.
Full-arch or dentures — the honest fork
Dentures cost a fraction of this, involve no surgery, and a well-made set serves many people well — if that's you, you don't need us. Fixed full-arch teeth earn their price when dentures genuinely fail you: moving when you speak, restricting what you eat, the daily out-at-night ritual, accelerating bone loss. That's a quality-of-life purchase with a £5,000+ discount for making the trip — which is why it's the case we most often see justify travelling twice. It's also precisely the surgery where a quiet spa-town recovery week beats a city hotel.
Frequently asked questions
How much does All-on-4 cost in Hungary?
Typically £4,500–£6,500 per arch (about CA$7,500–$11,000), against £10,000–£14,000 in the UK or CA$18,000–$30,000 in Canada — the largest absolute savings of any dental treatment, commonly £5,000+ per arch.
Do I really get teeth the same week?
Yes — a fixed provisional bridge, typically fitted within days of placement; All-on-4 is engineered for immediate loading. The definitive final bridge is made at a second visit 3–6 months later. Anyone presenting the provisional as the finished product is skipping half the treatment.
I've been told I don't have enough bone — am I still a candidate?
Often yes: the angled rear implants use the bone you have and frequently avoid grafting. But a CT scan decides, not a sales page — send your X-rays and get a written plan before booking anything.
All-on-4 or dentures?
Fixed teeth don't move, don't come out at night, and preserve jawbone; dentures cost far less and avoid surgery. If a well-fitted denture serves you, that's a valid answer — full-arch implants are for the people it doesn't. An honest clinic walks you through both.
